Perspectus designed a new freestanding medical office containing exam rooms, offices, and surgery to support Cleveland Plastic Surgery Institute’s growing practice. The design allows for future expansion via an adjacent building addition as the client’s practice evolves.
The client was interested in creating a building with simple forms that would create a distinctive presence and provide space for examinations as well as a functioning surgery and recovery area. Separation between these exam functions and surgery creates flexibility for provider expansion.
Incorporating porcelain tile for the enclosure provided a refined skin for the structure. The subtle palette differentiation and patterning of the tile provided movement to the staid forms of the building. Building forms, accentuated by linear lighting along the top edge, act as identifiers for the building from the adjacent streets.
