Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital ED + ICU Addition

With an Emergency Department and ICU that were over 40 years old and were not designed for current patient volumes, Cleveland Clinic selected the Perspectus team to plan and design an addition to Fairview Hospital prioritizing patient comfort and healing. A sweeping light-filled entrance concourse drastically improved the arrival experience and wayfinding while bringing new life to an aging campus. The first floor Emergency Department accommodates 72,000 visits with 71 beds, 16 of which are in a dedicated Pediatric unit. Directly above is the ICU with 38 private patient rooms immediately adjacent to surgery. Dedicated oversized elevators transport patients between the Helipad, ICU, ED, Imaging and Invasive Radiology.
