Allegheny Country Club, founded in 1895, is one of the premier private clubs in Western Pennsylvania. Perspectus has led the club through multiple clubhouse improvement projects and a comprehensive facilities master plan all based on restoring and reinventing the historic clubhouse and grounds. The clubhouse lower level improvements created a new member entrance linking locker rooms to a new golf pro-shop and cart staging area via a new brick walkway carved out of unused basement space. A new grand stairway provided access from the main level and new member amenities were added such as wine cellar, tasting room, fitness center, and a relocated women’s locker room. The design reflects on the club history but provides a fresh perspective in the use of colors and materials.
