City of Highland Heights Council Chambers Renovation

This project centered on the comprehensive renovation of Highland Heights City Hall’s Council Chambers, originally constructed in the 1980s. The primary objective was to re-imagine the space, aligning it with the client’s vision for a more inclusive and contemporary civic environment.

The focal point of the redesign involved reorienting the seating arrangement so that elected officials and city leaders now directly engage with the audience, fostering a sense of transparency and accessibility. In addition to this spatial reconfiguration, the project incorporated cutting-edge audio-visual systems and refined aesthetics. 

The overarching design goals were to present a polished and updated image of city governance, and to provide versatile spatial solutions for various municipal activities. The resultant Chambers not only convey a modern and professional identity but also offer flexibility for diverse city functions, from official meetings to community events.

The following updates and renovations were implemented to modernize and enhance the functionality of the Council Chambers:

• Re-design of the orientation of the room, including dias and audience seating
• New feature wall, with new etched glass seal of the city
• Complete new lighter and open color and material palate
• New zoned and dimming lighting system
• Integrated AV systems, including new monitors, flat screens, council interface, microphones, recording capability, and cameras
