Perspectus was tasked to design and modernize Health Network Laboratories’ (Lehigh Valley Health Network) primary clinical laboratory facility. The project involved the interior fit-out of a newly purchased single story facility.
Perspectus attentively addressed clinical laboratory workflow and collaborative adjacencies to increase testing efficiency and clinical / diagnostic communication between complex testing areas. The laboratory planning and design focused on an efficient flow of specimens from accessioning to testing and through final resulting and archiving. Laboratory departments included: specimen management, automation, immunology, microbiology, toxicology, histology, cytology, molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, referral testing, pathology, phlebotomy, research / test development.
The facility also features approximately 35,000 square feet of administrative office and employee support spaces as well as facility support, supply storage / warehouse areas, and courier + dock services.
