As part of a system-wide initiative to meet new pharmacy compliance standards, Perspectus was tasked with adding a new addition to relocate the existing space-constrained pharmacy. Located between existing support buildings and a 1970’s medical center expansion, the project adds an outpatient pharmacy to the campus that includes clean compounding rooms, and a patient-friendly retail counter.
The design translates the color palette of adjacent buildings to establish a contemporary, one-story brick building, augmented by broad window panels with ochre-toned spandrel glass accents to filter light into the interior spaces. The subtractive entry consolidates nearby entries and simplifies wayfinding. The corridor connecting the entry to existing internal circulation integrates skylights that allow light to be borrowed by an adjacent cafeteria.
The pharmacy addition is cohesive within the campus and provides a single, clear, light-filled entry point for staff and visitors.
