University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s and Nationwide Children’s Hospitals have joined forces to form The Congenital Heart Collaborative for the care of patients with congenital heart disease. The collaborative provides patients and families a unique unit specific to congenital heart care. The center is programmed for a seamless continuum of care and consists of an inpatient unit to support the adjacent surgical suite which features two pediatric hybrid operating rooms as well as a future dedicated Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. Private patient rooms are designed specifically for pediatric needs including accommodations for family overnight stay. A centralized, curved glass family lounge and child play area offers respite from the patient rooms while still allowing constant observation from staff.
